Renewable generation and discharging storage equalled 47% of yesterday's electricity demand, with a peak of 76% at 01:15. Fossil fuel generation (mostly gas) equalled 30% of demand. 0% of generation was exported, 23% of demand was met by imports.

Coastal water levels in SoCal are running ~1.5' above normal because of a record-strength El Niño. Rachel's battering waves on top of these elevated waters are likely to cause significant coastal damage during Sunday morning's high tide, with all-time top-10 water levels at San Diego and L.A.
The current Sec. of Energy likes to talk about how the ten states with the highest mix of coal have much lower rates than the ten states who have functionally eliminated it. He doesn't really talk about how the citizens of those states are healthier and wealthier without it.
