A strong geomagnetic storm watch (G3) remains in effect for Saturday night, as the solar wind has remained strong after a Coronal Mass Ejection (#CME) struck earth last Thursday. With a new moon phase, this could be a good show for northern #Wisconsin tonight. Best viewing is outside city limits.

Space weather is truly firing on all cylinders. We have an M6.4 flare ongoing right now from AR 4549! The flare is eruptive and is generating a nice CME at the moment, but I am guessing because of the west-limb position of the AR, the CME will mostly miss Earth.

AURORA ALERT 🚨 NOAA SWPC has a G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm watch for Oct 11 UT, which is Saturday night into Sunday in North America. Two CMEs are forecasted to arrive together, with the northern U.S. and southern Canada in play. My map below 👇 #heliophysics
