Proper intro Post? Proper intro Post. Hi all, name's Storm, an artist who is just trying to get themselves out in the world. I dabble in a lot of areas and am trying to practice different things.
Storm Starshine's Art
by @stormstarshine.bsky.social
This is a relatively recent piece that I made last month, really happy with how this one came out. It had been a bit since I had drawn a shaded piece before this one and I'm happy with the result. Did go a bit lazy on the people because I didn't feel like drawing all of them.
With it being the month of Halloween, I have been thinking of things to draw for the occasion, but coming up blank. Then I remembered Dia de los Muertos and suddenly this little guy popped into my head, meet Skulavera. A simple design, but one I loved to make.
Time to start posting some oldish art because why not. This is a Gardevoir regional variant that I had made for the first draft of a OG Pokemon Region I have planned. The whole theme of the region was music, and it still is a main theme in my current draft, so I made a Sona (LoL) themed line.
Finished up the evolution to the last Fakemon I worked on, this is Skelebrate and I love how they came out. The name is basically what inspired these two, but I might have also come up with another idea that will be shown later.
More ideas for Pokemon have entered my head and I'm feeling in the festive mood, so I've updated my Lyridian Ralts to match the new idea for my Famemon Region. Had fun designing them and I think I have an idea of what the rest of the line will look like.
Got my updated Regional Kirlia done. I am happy with how the line is turning out so far. There will definitely be a tone shift with Gallade, but I think it'll work out fine.
Finished up this line, here is both Lyridan Gallade (may change name later) and Lyridian Gardevoir. I'm happy with how the two came out, with Gardevoir keeping the theme of the line going. For Gallade, I wanted to go a different direction, so I based him off of El Charro Negro.
Before I forget to post it, here is the full evo line
Been a bit since I've shown art, but that is because I've been busy at a small project that I'm doing over November. I am trying my hand at making a comic and I'm sticking to it no matter the end quality. This is the title of this comic and yes, there was an inspiration here.
This is the first two pages of my comic and I would be lying if I said this whole process wasn't intimidating. I'm kind of just going off of instinct, so there's still a lot I don't fully understand about making comics. Still, I am going to stick with this because why not.
Well I'm out of recent art for the time being, so time to post old art. To start off, here is one of my personal favorites from this year. This is my take on a Reverse form of my current favorite Unit in Cardfight Vanguard, Lianorn "Reverse".
A new drawing, this time one I got from an announcement for Cardfight Vanguard. With a new manga announced and a duel disk like device on the promo picture, I figured I would give drawing it a shot.
Been a bit since I posted something, mainly cause I forgot about this site, but I do have more drawing to post. Here are two more pages of the comic I've been working on.
Pages 5 and 6 of this comic of mine. Might be coming back to this down the line, but am happy with the current product.
Anyway, to start the art posting up again, here is the last three pages to my comic that I was working on. Had a lot of fun just making is whole thing and it was a joy that I am looking forward to attempting again.
Today I have more stuff I worked on last year, this time the later half of another project I was working on. These are half of the Cure Riders, Precures themed on Kamen Riders, that I worked on. Will post the other two tomorrow along with the final line up of everyone.
Bit of a rough few days, but I remembered today to do things. Here are the other two Heisei Cure Riders I made along with the final produce showing the Cure Riders that I've drawn over 2022-2023. Happy with how the whole project turned out and will happily do the same for Reiwa
Been debating what to post next, but I got nothing... which is good because I have a bg drawing for that. OK more seriously, do just need to remember to post here more often.
Some more old art from me, this is an OC Precure that I made for a story that I currently have shelved. Not sure if I'm going to start with that story, but I am happy with how this turned out considering it was my first time doing anything Precure related.
Since I put it in my banner, may as well post the art I used for it. This is actually the second ever piece that I shaded and I'm still happy with how it turned out.
This is an older drawing and one of the ones that I put in my first art post, but god am I still happy with how it came out. Should probably see about doing more background drawings this year.
Actually getting into more recent drawings, this is a project that I haven't posted here, though this piece I just finished today. I would like to introduce you to a Fakemon Project that I have been working on, this is Pokemon Astral Song. Just a Title for today.
To start this project, I think a good first step is going to be showing off the region, this is the Leriody Region. Now, I am not a master artist and this is very rudimentary as I get a good feel for a region. Anyway, this region is going to be based on Texas with some of the neighboring areas.
With every region, there needs a Pokemon Professor that studies something there. As such, meet Professor Frezno, the lead researcher on the local phenomenon known Astral Energy. What is Astral Energy you may ask? I'll talk about it later, but it's one of the things I'm planing for this region.
May as well start posting the Pokemon I have, which is really just the starters and legendaries. As such, here is the grass starter, Prairup. Had fun designing them and I love how they came out, just a little dude.
Since it's been a bit, may as well post the other two starters to make up for the inactivity. Meet Leakling and Kither, based off a horned lizard and a beaver respectively. These two were a joy to design and I love how they came out.
Of course, every fangame/region idea has to have legendaries for the region and this is one of my "box" legends. Meet Mustral (Mu[JP for Nothing] + Astral/Mistral), a lPokemon that eternally wanders the Lyriody Region in search of a song to call it's own.
And here is the other "box" legend of Lyriody, meet Faesical (Fae/Faerie + Musical). Like her counterpart, she wanders the region for her own reason, her's being to spread joy with her voice and songs. The whole dichotomy with these two is the loneliness of space and the gathering of music/people.
Happy Pokemon Day all, figured I would draw something for the occasion because this series has inspired me so much. This is a piece that I never thought I would do, just something of my trainer OC and her team. I have a lot to say about this series, so if you want to read...(1/4)
Ok, now let's continue the art posting with the starter evolutions. First up is going to be Coyill, the evolution of Prariup. This was a fun one to draw and yes, the type is actually intentional.
Next up is the Fire starter's second evo, meet Lizence (Lizard + Defense). This line was admittedly the one I had probably the most difficulty thinking of a design for until looking at a gorilla for reference... yeah I don't think I need to explain how the final form is going to look.
Last of the second stage starters to cover, meet Beavder. This line was the easiest to design for with the idea of construction worker beaver and I love them so much.
Next up is the fire evo, meet Lizfender. This one was a very fun boi to draw, came out exactly like I pictured them.
To get back on track with my Fakemon art, here is the last stage of the Water Starter, meet Bucstruction. This big boy was probably the one I'm the most proud of for the starters. Again, apologies for the long wait for this one.
With the starters done and drawing hopefully back on trackL here is something for my Fakemon Region: The Regional Bird. Meet Humbrate, the Hummingbird Pokemon, specifically based off of a ruby-throated humming bird. Simple, but I love the end result.
