Jess Holmes I DIDN'T FORGET TO FINISH JULY! I just got busy. And distracted. And bored. But now it's done. And I'm not too keen on the colours. Oh, well. The birth flowers of July are water lilies and larkspur symbolising positivity and joy and a load of other nuances that depend on the specific colour. #art
Jess Holmes Agonised limping toward the finish line. trying to balance between getting an accurate likeness and committing to a style choice is HARD but like. I really really wanted to *see* this painting. so i have to make it. also i hate drawing people from the side. ok done whining now i'm going to bed
Jess Holmes Getting closer with it now. Face angle was bugging me, but I THINK I have it right now. Made for good practice, though. Don't mind the weird lines, I just made the head a bit bigger. Colours on this are tricky, the painting I'm doing the study from has incredibly subtle shifts of colour.
Jess Holmes Because I am a glutton for punishment I did do another piece that was heavy on the linework and this time I made life EVEN HARDER for myself by adding colour.
