This is what a state that believes in democracy looks like. A state urging people to use their right to vote, and helping their citizens at every step to do so. A state government not trying to actively disenfranchise voters because they know their policies are unpopular.
The Alito discourse reminds me of being a 1L, when a few of peppered our property prof with questions about the Court’s ridiculously unjust 5-4 decision in Bennis v Michigan. Finally the prof, exasperated, just said, “It’s a Rehnquist opinion, it doesn’t have to make sense.”
