So bizarre that Citibike members get free rides on Lyft-operated bike share systems in Chicago, Portland, and San Francisco, but not in DC, where an 8-minute ride on a conventional bike costs over $2.

Portland tore out Harbor Drive in 1974 and built Tom McCall Waterfront Park in its place. Fifty years later, nobody's asking for the highway back. The BQE doesn't have to be permanent either.

1am and i just bought four of the best tacos of my life from a makeshift vendor in the parking lot of the seafood joint at 92nd + Powell. Don’t know if some law changed that allowed these pop-up joints to proliferate but gotta say, if you squint, it almost looks like Portland is a real goddamn city

From my seat as Chair of the Housing & Permitting Committee, I’ve been leading work on the Unified Housing Strategy (UHS) along with Housing Bureau staff and city leaders. UHS will be Portland’s first comprehensive roadmap for all programs, policies, and resources related to housing.

The Street Trust's VERY FIRST Ride2Own e-bike program for youth started last week, and we're thrilled to be providing this low-carbon, more cost-effective, and safer transportation option to young people in the Parkrose neighborhood.

So delightful to see this photo on our Slack channel of cargo bikes parked at the Portland Public School board rally. So many families with their amazing rides. Bikes are better for democracy! Photo by Maximillian Battison

Hop on the Special Edition: N & NE Bike Bus tomorrow morning to avoid traffic! This special edition of the city bike bus operates exclusively on the N University Park (7:25 a.m. start) and NE Cully City (7:35 a.m. start) routes, every Wednesday during ODOT's I-5 southbound closure.

Southwest Harvey Milk Street is filled with pride! I recently joined Councilor Zimmerman for the grand reopening of the car-free Pride Plaza. Last year PBOT repaved the street and updated the curb ramps to be ADA-compliant, and this year they painted it and added furniture and planters.
