What a fantastic first day at #NewScientistLive2026 among many fantastic talks, the highlight for me was getting to listen to and meet @esa.int Meganne Christian and Britains first astronaut to go to space, Helen Sharman. Their enthusiasm for space was clear to see, fabulous! 🧪 🔭

Fab 1st day at #NewScientistLive. Absolutely brilliant astro talks from @chanda.blacksky.app & @chrislintott.bsky.social and I even managed to fangirl Helen Sharman (astronaut) to tell her about the time she visited my school and changed my life. She is the nicest person in the world ever 🤗🔭
10th to 13th October: Mars crosses M44, the Beehive Cluster in Cancer, over these dates. The planet will be in the centre of the cluster on the 11th and 12th October. The grouping will be best viewed around 05:00 BST (04:00 UT). A great photo opportunity. #Astronomy
Aurora from North Yorkshire around 9.30pm. I think I missed the best part of the display but great to see the aurora again! 😀 #Aurora #NorthernLights
