Accorded celebrity status during it's 6-day stay, the Pendeen Lapland Bunting must have been the most visited individual of it's ilk anywhere in the British Isles during early October. An extremely confiding individual, It put on quite a show for ardent Longspur devotees #ukbirding #birdingCornwall
Juv Bairds Sandpiper still showing from hide at Drift Reservoir. Also at least 14 Cattle Egrets. @birdguides.bsky.social #Cornwallbirding #Shorebird
Good to see the 1CY Kumlein’s Gull & Spotted Sandpiper at Drift Reservoir early this morning. Managed Some phonescoped record shots. #Cornwallbirding #shorebird #Larid
It was great to see the group of three Buff-breasted Sandpipers at Davidstow airfield on 7/10/26. I even managed a few pics! @cbwps.org.uk #Cornwallbirding #Calidris #Shorebird
Not much of note around Sennen today or Porthgwarra, a couple of Firecrest and 1 Wheatear at the latter, and 18 Med gulls in the cove including a Belgian/Netherlands colour coded 2CY individual EE21. @cbwps.org.uk #Cornwallbirding
Mistakenly tried seawatching in 20mph direct northerlies at pendeen today 😂. Got some more shots of this absolute stunner tho! Saw 3 chough as well #cornwallbirds @cbwps.org.uk
Davidstow Airfield this afternoon 3 Buff-breasted Sandpipers and Ringed Plover #Cornwallbirds
Been a few months since I've seen these little ones. Firecrest and Goldcrests at Pinetum Gardens St Austell #birdingCornwall
After the excitement of the Upland Sandpiper, we slowed things down with some coastal wandering. The Lapland Bunting at Pendeen Lighthouse couldn't get much closer! We ended the day with a stunning sunset at Land's End, accompanied by Cornish Chough and a Bluefin Tuna boil. #ukbirding #cornwallbirds
Lapland Bunting playing hard to get below Pendeen lighthouse #ukbirding #birdingCornwall
Our luck continued for our final day in Cornwall today, when news broke of an Upland Sandpiper at nearby Woon Gumpus Common. After some searching (and rather innovative twitch tactics!) we both managed great views of this cracking little American vagrant. #ukbirding #cornwallbirds #rarebirdsuk
Turtle dove at polgigga and lesser yellowlegs at devoran on october 1st! My best views of turtle dove by far, and not my best views of lesserlegs 😂 Osprey puking up pellets was new for me, and nice to see 3 spotshank, knot, and wigeon at devoran. #cornwallbirds @cbwps.org.uk
Stunning lapland bunting at pendeen this afternoon! A nice day out w/ beardies pinging, water rail, and redwings overhead at helston loe, and manxies, commic terns, common scoters, and bluefin tuna off of pendeen #cornwallbirds @cbwps.org.uk
A brilliant day spent on the AK Wildlife pelagic today. Minke, loads of Common Dolphin, and breaching Tuna - but the seabirds definitely stole the show! 2 Grey Phal, 4 Sootys, 2 Balearic and 1 Great Shearwater the highlights. A privilege to see these birds out on the waves! #ukbirding #cornwallbirds
Today’s ‘Black/eared Kite’ off the A30 at Camborne. There were likely 5 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at Davidstow. 4 in a distinct tight ‘flock’ together with a single one 250 mtrs away who preferred the company of Ringed Plovers. #cornwallbirding
Very grateful to @lobb66.bsky.social and @liamlangley1.bsky.social for sharing their patch with us for an enjoyable seawatching session from St Ives Head this morning. The rest of the day was a little more relaxed for us, with a walk at Zennor and lunch in The Tinners Arms. #UKBirding #CornwallBirds
today judah and i went to Devoran and twitched the Lesser Yellowlegs, and also saw an Osprey preening after a meal on a dead tree branch. Afterwards, we went to Polgigga to twitch a Turtle Dove, after staying a while and nearly dipping, i found it just behind us! #cornwallbirds #ukbirds
Lovely to see at least five Cattle egret at RSPB Marazion this afternoon. In the west corner where the Heron hang out, and the restoration work is being done. #CornwallBirding 🪶
