Today started with a distraction. I did some assembly for last weeks robot. This is the drive pulley for rotating the scrubber pad while cutting.

When you learn electronics, you can just build and program your own binary clock! 😃 Can you tell what time it is?
How can we design robots so that they are safe and functional in people's homes? 🤖 🏠 Recently, I chatted to Dr. Aaron Edsinger from @hellorobot.bsky.social about assistive mobile manipulator robots. Available wherever you get your podcasts: linktr.ee/robottalkpod
Kushant Patel is an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at @brookhavenlab.bsky.social, where he is developing control systems for advanced synchrotron beamlines. Listen to our chat here: www.robottalk.org/2026/10/09/e...
📢 New Episode Alert! This week, I chatted to Kushant Patel from @brookhavenlab.bsky.social about robots that work in scientific facilities, such as particle accelerators. 🤖 Listen now: www.robottalk.org/2026/10/09/e... #Robots #Robotics #Automation
The current motor doesn't run that fast, and the encoder is only 1 count/rev, which makes the starting point a bit precarious. If I'm going to add a moving guide, I need a way to enter the wire pitch. - Demo video -
This weeks robot is a "coil lathe" its for making transformers :autobot: One of my first goals is to move the supply rack from the front to the back, and also change its everything. I will try to use vertical spool holders and make a moving feed-arm for it. also needs an encoder!
