Preparing a blog post, and as a side product I wrote some short thoughts on AI in reviewing, in TCS and beyond.

Modern software practices and issues. How to run team more efficiently and with greater widespread visibility, especially in the AI era.
63% of American voters support pausing AI development. Meanwhile, Meta and OpenAI are giving their AI agents adorable little mascots. Nothing says “trust us with your inbox” like a fuzzy egg or a green Muppet. I wrote about it on #Substack. pithycyborg.substack.com/p/ai-just-en...
We’re sharing the engineering work behind Ai2’s GPU scheduler—our new approach to allocating compute across research teams. On our largest H100 cluster, median queue wait fell from 5 minutes to 24 seconds. 🧵 buff.ly/4UsJEYe
I believe Anthropic is trying to protect us from our future AI overlords. www.anthropic.com/news/2026-us...
Does AI follow remote work? States with more remote workers tend to have a higher share of employers using AI.
As a researcher who did early some work on the productivity impacts of AI chatbots using RCTs, I’d note a lack of similar studies since the dawn of true agents last fall Partially that is newness & partially research design challenges, but I suspect we are missing some large & important effects
“I am worried that AI might reduce the number of entry-level jobs because it can do many things faster.” AI is upending labor markets around the world, yet few countries have as much at stake as India, long considered a nation of coders. bloom.bg/3U9HudE 📷: Elke Scholiers/Bloomberg
Software engineering could and should be done with the same care as any other type of engineering. This is a post in honor of Margaret Hamilton (and also a subtweet of all vibe-coders everywhere).
Some early first-hand accounts of the experience of encountering a narrow superhuman intelligence as mathematicians grapple with the hundreds of big AI proofs released by OpenAI. Problems solved in inhuman ways that make us wonder what it means to actually know things... scottaaronson.blog?p=10169

What’s happening at #COLM2026? 👀🎤 Ai2 Comms Lead @kylelwiggers.bsky.social catches up with Senior Director of NLP @nlpnoah.bsky.social to talk agentic models, the next iteration of Olmo, & more! At COLM? Come say hi at booth 302! 👋
Billionaire Ray Dalio warned that artificial intelligence is a “classic bubble” that is nearing a bursting point thanks to rising interest rates and the need to turn wealth into cash. Read more here: bloom.bg/4AOTfH7 📷: Chris J. Ratcliffe/Bloomberg via Getty Images
I think more and more that @eduede.bsky.social has a crucial point. "Intelligence," "understanding," "writing" — AI is fragmenting these concepts by putting us in a position to see that the phenomena we thought they fused are only *correlated* and can be unbundled.
PayPal recently tested the WebMCP proposed standard to streamline agentic commerce. By replacing more than 30 complex interface-interaction steps with 3 structured tool calls, they delivered a significantly faster and more consistent E2E checkout experience for AI assistants → goo.gle/4yXHc8E
Huh, there ARE no science-fiction novels written about largely inert and harmless AI. Guess we don’t have real AI yet! Let’s consult our map of SF-plot-worthy AI and emulate that:
