Commission that I did for a lovely man who wanted to surprise his husband for Christmas. #resin #portrait #commission #painting #queerart

This piece really hit all the notes I wanted when I started this #Resin series. Slight changes in shades, depth between layers, organic and ethereal. I guess others agreed as this piece sold on Saturday. #QueerArt #Artsky

Love how this #Resin piece came out now that it’s done. Was real nice getting to show these pieces off at Pride this weekend. All these pieces are now available. DM me for details. $475 ea. #QueerArt #Artsky

Some glamor shots of the orange companion #resin piece to the green piece. Would’ve preferred a little more yellow coming through in the top layers, but I still love him. #QueerArt

Here are some glamor shots of this finished #Resin piece. Got it all trimmed and cleaned today. Hopefully get some sketches out for the next two this weekend. #QueerArt

Also finished up the sunny orange #Resin boy today. The slight divot is gone, filled with resin and invisible to the eye after he got his final coat. #QueerArt

Wrapped up this very green #Resin boy today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll sketch out the next two. #QueerArt

Nearing the end on this #Resin piece too. One more layer of paint and resin, then cleaning up the edges. Can’t wait to show him off at White Center Pride. #QueerArt

Tweaked my back Friday, so I couldn’t work on this piece all weekend. But I’m finally caught up on him and tomorrow and I can start the second to last layers on this and the green #Resin piece. #QueerArt

Spent time painting today again. Thought I had time for both pieces, but this took longer than I thought it would. Loving how it’s shaping up though. Gave it a quick coat of #resin after. #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art Spent time painting today so that I could get more #Resin down on this piece too. #QueerArt

Cody Shipman Art Got some work done on the orange #resin companion piece to the green one I’m working on. Darker lines over the base of the sunflowers. #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art Sounds like I’ll have a lot of time for #Resin soon, so why not get a head start? Second layer of paint on this guy. Next layer will be the base of the figure. #QueerArt

Finally continuing work on the next two #Resin pieces. Feels good to get these going again. Here’s the piece featuring sunflowers, first layer of paint out of six done. #QueerArt #Acrylic

Cody Shipman Art Poured the base layer for the next two #Resin pieces. Getting the sketches figured out still, green is mostly there and orange is still just an idea. #QueerArt

Also finished up this #Resin piece inspired by a photo of @dadnxt.bsky.social. Quite happy with how it turned out! #QueerArt

Didn’t take update shots the last few days, but I did wrap up the two #resin pieces I’d been working on! #QueerArt

Made some progress on these two #Resin pieces over the weekend. Only a few more layers to go! #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 4
More progress on the next two #resin pieces. Whenever I do a “silhouette” layer I’m like, wow this goes so fast, completely forgetting how long the lines take. Lines incoming tomorrow! #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 2
Some shots of the next two #Resin paintings that are getting worked on. Paints were a little darker than I thought they’d be, but once they’re covered in resin there’s not much I can do. Still liking them and confident they will look great in the end. #QueerArt

Well, #Resin piece number 52 completed, and the second piece for this year. The paint kind of did whatever it wanted here, and I’m not mad about it, just followed its lead. Based off a photo of the wonderful @plantingman.bsky.social #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art Well I’ve finished the final pour of #Resin on this piece based off @plantingman.bsky.social I’ll take some better photos tomorrow when the resin is dried (and hopefully there’s decent daylight). Time to start sketching out the next. #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art Well the lines stayed the same, so that’s good I guess. I put the fingies on this #Resin piece today. Next layer will have the ferns that he’s holding, and the lines for the fingers. After that it’s just one final coat of resin and this guy will be done. #QueerArt

I honestly have no idea how this is gonna look once I pour #resin on it and it cures. The resin has been activating the paint in a weird way, bringing out yellower/golder hues. I’ll either get nice dark lines, or they’ll disappear entirely. We’ll find out tomorrow I guess! #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art Another day of progress on this #Resin piece. Always hurts to cover up parts that I end up loving, but that’s part of the deal with these multi-layered pieces. Lines tomorrow! #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art This new #Resin piece is doing whatever it wants and I’m just along for ride. Letting the colors inspire where it goes. Big pour of clear resin next. #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 4
The 51st #Resin piece is complete. Bit of a different direction here, tried some new things, some worked, some didn’t, already making mistakes (we’ll see if happy or not) on the next piece, but that’s what this journey has been since 2022 when I did the first. Here we are in 2025. #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 3
Final coat of resin drying in this guy currently. Might do one more to try and round the edges. But we’ll see how it comes out. New piece starting soon I guess! #Resin #QueerArt
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 2
A bit more progress on this gentleman. Just need the lines on top of the flowers next, then a finishing coat of resin. #Resin #QueerArt #Painting
Cody Shipman Art 1 / 3
Some progress on my first Resin piece of 2025, motivation, mood, and time have been a barrier, but close to the end, and motivated to do more! #QueerArt #Resin
