#SewAndTell week 31 is pockets - here is the yellow pocket in my green SewOverIt 60’s coat - this fabric was kindly donated by my friend Yazz in lockdown so whenever I wear it it reminds me of her #garmentsewing

The sewing prompt game with a new prompt every monday Use #sewandtell to be featured.
#SewAndTell this week is hand-sewn items - I present the Fine Sweater before and after the outline stitching was added 🧶
Sorry everyone. The last week was very busy and #SewAndTell totally slipped my mind. So a bit late ... 🙈 🧵 #SewAndTell Week 29 - Sewing by Hand The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 I'm the first one to admit, I prefer using my sewing machine, but sometimes that's just not an option. #sewing #SewSky 1/2
A couple of not-great photos for this week’s work-in-progress theme on #SewAndTell. This is the early stages of a Sew Over It Farah jumpsuit in a purpley blue cotton. Need to do the cuffs next!
#SewAndTell Week 28 - Sewing Plans The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Some projects just take longer. Finding the right pattern, the perfect fabric, cutting, sewing, seam ripping 😅, sewing again ... So, I would like to make sewing plans a recurring prompt (maybe every two month). What do you think? 1/2
Here's a wintry alteration for #SewAndTell. I turned this long knitted woollen cardigan from an XL into an S size, re-created the side slits & shortened the sleeves. There's always that moment of hesitation before using scissors 😅 #sewing 🧶
This week’s #SewAndTell theme is winter so here’s my mothy Tilly & the Buttons duffel coat, which gets a lot of wear each winter #garmentsewing #sewing
#SewAndTell Week 27 - Winter The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 I'm a bit in a winter blues. So, let's do a Winter theme. This is a dress I made for my mom years ago. It's her preferred winter dress style. #Sewing #SewSky #Winter #Garmentsewing #QuiltSky
This week’s #SewAndTell theme is green, so here are a couple of green jackets - my favourite smart jacket and a teal green needlecord, which I often wear as a shirt #garmentsewing
#SewAndTell Week 26 - Green The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 It is Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, so natuarally this weeks theme is #green. 🧵 These pants also double for #AroAtelier2026 - Aro Craft. 🧵 Pattern: Marlene.Hose by Leni Pepunkt Fabric: Ikea Curtain 😜 #Sewing #SewSky #AroWeek
This week’s #SewAndTell theme is basics - and you don’t get much more basic than a T-shirt! This is the French Navy Stellen T, plus me looking a bit early morning/ stunned #sewing #garmentsewing
#SewAndTell Week 25 - Basics The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 After seeing some lovely statement pieces last week, let's don't forget about the Basics. 🧵 I practically live in turtlenecks in winter. So it was about time to make them myself. 🧵 #sewing #SewSky #GarmentSewing
For #SewAndTell this week the theme is BOLD - here’s my favourite Alexander Henry fabric, Frida’s Garden, as a much-worn skirt. I also made a sleeveless pussy bow blouse with the rest of it, and teeny bits went into a quilt #sewing
#SewAndTell Week 4 - Bold / Statement Pieces The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Sorry I'm a day late 😅 🧵 Let's be a bit extra this week and show your boldest statement pieces. 🧵 I just finished this shirt, made from my childhood curtains. #Sewing #SewSky #GarmentSewing #QuiltSky
Week 23 of ##SewAndTell is all about kids, and hence, in my wheelhouse. Early on, I stumbled on a formula of cotton pajamas + fleece accessories for comfortable, practical kid costumes. Here are a few that I laid out and photographed to sell or give away, but alas, no takers. DM me if you need one!
It’s kids week for #SewAndTell - I haven’t sewn any children’s clothes but I’ve enjoyed making a few kid-friendly hand-sewn Christmas tree decorations out of felt
#SewAndTell Week 23 - Kids The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Let's do a kids week. 🧵 I rarely do kids stuff, but when I do, I like using cute fabrics. This one was a gift for a friends child. I wanted to add a personal touch to the puzzle. And it doubled for storing the pieces. #sewing #Sewsky
#SewAndTell week 22 is work in progress. I’m turning this William Morris cotton into a Fibre Mood Edith blouse. Feels like I’ve done lots of pattern tracing and cutting, but not a lot of actual sewing yet! #sewing #garmentsewing
#SewAndTell Week 22 - Work in Progress The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 This week tell us about your current wip's or maybe an old UFO (unfinished object) that deserves another change. 🧵 Remember this fabric? It was so fun, I just had to use it again. #Sewing #GarmentSewing #QuiltSky #WorkInProgress
For week 21 of #SewAndTell, there's lots of blue in this bog coat I'm making out of upholstery fabric thrifted at the 757 Creative Reuse Center in Norfolk, VA. Just need to finish hand-stitching the collar and I'll be stomping around regally, in a Star Wars-y sort of way #sewsky #sewing
Another blue make for #SewAndTell - a blue waxed cotton top made using one of my mum’s old patterns #garmentsewing
#SewAndTell this week is blue - here’s the @sewoveritlondon.bsky.social pussy bow blouse in a blue floral pattern from a few years ago #garmentsewing
#SewAndTell Week 21 - Blue The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Let's show your blue sewing projects. 🧵 This bag was a gift for my mom. The main fabric was once my grandmas coat. And my mom loves chicken and plays the horn. 🧵 #sewing #SewSky #GarmentSewing #QuiltSky #handmade
#SewAndTell this week is “what’s on your needles” - unfortunately it’s my red Kidsilk Haze cardi (again). I thought I had caught all the moth holes when I did some mending last week, then I wore it and found some more! 🧶
This week’s #SewAndTell theme is joy. One thing about #garmentsewing that gives me a lot of joy is knowing that I’ve made something utterly unique - my fabric choices, my fit, my mistakes!
#SewAndTell Week 20 - Joy The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Starting positiv into the New Year with Joy. Let's talk about the joyful moments of sewing. 🧵 Other than finishing an objects, I feel the most joy when I can share my passion for sewing. #sewing #SewSky #GarmentSewing #QuiltSky #handmade 1/2
These are rubbish photos but I have just finished my last #garmentsewing make of 2025, so I thought they would be good for this week’s #SewAndTell theme of 2025 reflections and 2026 resolutions! Vogue coat in raspberry Shetland wool
#SewAndTell Week 19 - New Years ReSEWlutions The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 It's this time of the year. Let's reflect on last years sewing or tell us about your 2026 sewing plans. 🧵 This dress is my reminder that spontanious unperfect projects can be an act of selflove. #sewing #SewSky 1/3
Some christmas related #sewing. Doesn't have to be big. These small makes were greatly appreciated. We reused paper giftbacks for years, so they started to fall appart. Made some new ones from a #christmas curtain, that wasn't used any more. And repaired my brothers favorite shirt. #SewAndTell
My gift for #SewAndTell A bag from a flag for a friend of a friend 😉
My second #SewAndTell post on the theme of gifts is a pile of tote bags I made from my stash for various friends (my mum keeps her pegs in one too!)
This week’s #SewAndTell theme is gifts, so here is a @sewoveritlondon.bsky.social Sylvia top that I made using some beautiful red fabric gifted to me by a friend in exchange for some face masks I made for her in 2020
For Week 18 of #SewAndTell (gifts), here is my 9yo sewing buddy's present for her mom. She made the star blocks, and I took over from there. Mom is the sort who's very sparing with praise, so it's a real feather in our cap that she teared up when she opened it.
#SewAndTell Week 18 - Gifts The weekly Sewing Prompt Game 🧵 Since December is a time of gift giving for many folks. Let's show some Gifts you made. (you can post after the 24./25. 😜) Doesn't has to christmas related or from this year. 🧵 #Sewing #SewSky #GarmentSewing #QuiltSky 1/2
