Enjoyed views of 2 Firecrests next to our Colchester garden this morning. In Holly bushes. Had an unsuccessful trip for the Mersea island Dartford Wblr which presumably has moved on. A nice catch up with the birds finder Dougal. And 2 Raven over the garden this a’noon #essexbirding

After getting upset earlier in week by birder saying on SM the Railway had closed in Folkestone, pleased on Wednesday to see town being promoted at both Rainham station and Ebbsfleet International station. Qu. How many birders who drive into Folkestone use the E15? (How many use the what now?)

How many birds made landfall yesterday afternoon? Nothing on Carr Naze Filey in the morning then low cloud and drizzle for an hour brought 40+ Robins, 20 Song Thrush, 9 Bramblings, 3 Chiffs, 3 Redpolls and this YBW in the last bush. Fall conditions like many birds getting scarcer.

"Some Pigeon are on the pitch: they think it's fall, over" Bird highlight today? Walking home from Rainham station, dozen plus Woodpigeon under the Beech in the park. At least three dozen above, stripping branches. They're hungry. They're Hungry, hungry pigeos

A return visit to the Naze this morning with Steve Entwhistle for the yellow-browed Warbler and we jammed in on Mr Bird finder general ( aka Daryl Stiles ) Red breasted Flycatcher that he had just found. A great morning watching this bird on/ off in main sycamore clump. Plus YBW also #essexbirding

This morning I had my first visit to the Naze this autumn. It was fairly quiet bird wise, although my highlights were 1 Yellow browed Warbler still in the main sycamore clump, showing on/ off and calling. Plus 1 Pied Flycatcher still there also. #essexbirding
