KOSA stalled, but only for now. Sponsors are lining up support for a lame‑duck revival, and the next attempt will move fast if parents aren’t paying attention. This fight isn’t over — and November is the danger zone.

News, discussion, and actions about KOSA (the misleadingly-named Kids Online Safety Act) and other bad internet bills, from a curated list of accounts Currently mostly US focused.
Rumor has it there's a last-ditch effort in the Senate to move KOSA - the Kids Online Safety Act. This is online surveillance. It does not protect children.
Meta just settled big in court over social media harms to kids, which is good news and …bad news. Let’s get into it. #Section230 #AgeVerification #OnlineIDChecks
Protecting kids online is a worthy goal. But the SCREEN Act and KOSA are not the right way to do it. Both bills are dangerous attacks on free speech. Cato's David Inserra explains what's wrong with the bills and what would work. https://ow.ly/SZvg50ZyIhQ
Breaking: @markey.senate.gov continues to lift up the significant concerns with KOSA raised by LGBTQ+ youth and human rights groups. www.fightforthefuture.org/news/2026-08...
Rare footage of me thanking a politician. Props to @markey.senate.gov for speaking out about the dangerous and misguided Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and lifting up the concerns of LGBTQ+ youth and parents. Time for @warren.senate.gov to wise up on this issue. BadInternetBills.com
To be clear, the Senate version of KOSA passed today is completely different than the House version that passed earlier this year, making it very unlikely to become law. The Senate knows this yet they are committing to the farce of acting on kids safety.
‼️ACTION ALERT: The Senate Commerce Committee is holding “kids safety” circus again, this time considering both KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act) & SCREEN Act, two of the most dangerous censorship & age verification bills on the table! CALL YOUR LAWMAKERS & TELL THEM TO OPPOSE 📲 248-331-8665
The SCREEN Act is not just another age-verification bill — it goes much further than anything passed at the state-level or in other countries. 1. The bill doesn't just target porn sites. It goes after *any* site that allows material "harmful" to minors. You'd have to scan your face to use Google.
