48th Ward Democrats Statement on the Murder of Alex Pretti:
Dear 48th Ward Neighbors,
By now, you have likely heard the horrific news that once again, another innocent person in Minneapolis was murdered by a federal agent. Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse at a Veterans Affairs hospital, was shot and killed yesterday by a Border Patrol agent in the middle of a neighborhood street. This heinous shooting reinforces what many of us already know: these operations were never about keeping our communities safe. Instead, ICE and Border Patrol are terrorizing our communities by dragging people off the street and using violence against anyone who tries to hold them accountable.
