In the Metro Boston region the TNC companies increased low occupancy vehicle trips by 100,000,000 per year NOT including deadhead trips. There’s extensive evidence that TNCs have dramatically increased LOV trips (and congestion/pollution) and hurt public transit revenue in cities around the world.

TNCs are the single largest transportation policy failure in many decades. Public transit is expected to pay for itself but cannot ever compete against investor subsidized TNCs that are not required to service handicapped, follow ANY employment laws, and prey upon drivers with “desperation scores”
