Its Trans Day of Visibilty. I should feel like showing how happy I have become. How accepting who I really am has changed my life in so many positive ways. Those things are all very true. However, it is more important right now to shed visibilty on the danger posed to trans people in the United States at this moment. We are being targeted daily by anti trans laws and discrimination that is unwarranted and built on false beliefs and ignorance of scientific research. The government is trying to actively scrub all positive transgender research in the United States. I feel very visible lately, but not in the ways that I hoped I would be. Every year brings the deaths of more trans people, especially black transwomen. Every year the trans population becomes less able to sustain ourselves as it becomes harder to be employed and our dignity is stripped from us. Let's make it very clear that this can change. This is not the way it should be or the way it has to be. However, trans people are not the ones that are able to inact change. We are too few to stand up alone. We need you to stand up for us. We need your voices to unite in our favor. We need you to use your priviledges to save us, because we are locked in survival mode.
