Today marks two months since Israel sealed the crossings into Gaza. This is a sustained denial of lifesaving assistance, leading to entirely preventable suffering and death
"People rely on our meals; they have no source of income to buy what's left in the local markets," says Sami Matar, our team lead in Gaza. "There's no meat, no fresh
vegetables. The coming week will be critical."
In just the past couple of days, aid warehouses across Gaza, including Anera's, have been overrun by thousands of people searching for food. People are so desperate that they are drinking contaminated water and eating spoiled food.
Under international law, the use of starvation as a weapon against civilians is a crime against humanity.
What we are witnessing is a clear obstruction of aid leading to starvation amongst Gaza's population. The world can no longer claim ignorance. Open the borders.

The average person in Gaza gets the equivalent of 3-6 water bottles per day for all of their water needs.
