The Intrepid Pearl emblem is yours, Guardians! We asked for 250,000 completions of the Excision story mission and you delivered with ample time to spare. You sent a message as a community: The Witness will always be vanquished when Guardians band together as one. Players can still participate in Community Challenge: Excision, Ergo Sum and earn the emblem before it ends on June 25 at 11:00 AM PT. We aim to deliver the emblem into participating accounts within 30 days after the end of this challenge.

A message from the Destiny 2 Dev Team:
- Reduced the time required to interact with the pyramid activators in the boss arena to one second. - Changed platforms in the boss arena to be solid on Legendary difficulty and adjusted their positioning to offer more protection on both difficulties. - Fixed an issue where players were blocked from earning the Upper Hand or Hyperblade Catalysts for the Praxic Blade after acquiring one of the two.
This update will also introduce a handful of activities which will launch inside the Portal in Fireteam Ops: - Birthplace of the Vile - The Arms Dealer - Defiant Battlegrounds: EDZ - Warden of Nothing - Exodus Crash Additionally, with the launch of Renegades, specific activities in the Portal have moved to a weekly map rotation including Reclaim, Expedition, and Onslaught. While we continue to investigate a fix to increase starting tokens in Contest of Elders, we have made a live change to increase the ways players can earn them, including: - Adding HVTs to encounters that reward tokens when killed - Rewarding tokens when completing bonus objectives and critical objectives - Rewarding tokens for skipping the Cryo Chamber encounter
We've identified an issue in the Welcome to the Frontier mission where the Piker Gang may not spawn properly. While we work on a fix, we recommend letting the objective update to "Defeat Piker Crew" before killing any of the Dregs or crouching through the tunnel as this should allow you to progress normally. For players in a stuck state during Mission Imperium trash compactor sequence (when "Joining Allies" appears), please ensure that you do not aim at or shoot the jammer before being prompted to do so. Finally, we are still investigating a separate issue where players are unable to enter the Hawk at the start of the Welcome to the Frontier mission. A reported workaround is to unselect your Renegade abilities, relaunch the mission, and then reselect your Renegade abilities as this may resolve the issue and allow you to progress.
We have discovered an issue in Renegades where players who preview or have loadouts with Wormgod Caress equipped will encounter a WEASEL error. This issue can be mitigated by updating your loadouts today either in-game or in the Companion app to temporarily remove this Exotic. After Renegades launches and you log in, you can add the Exotic to your loadouts again as new loadouts that include Wormgod Caress will not cause this error.
Based on your feedback, we've deployed the following changes to the event. - Score thresholds for all activities have been adjusted (numbers abbreviated for readability). -- Salt Mines - Top 1%: 3.371M, Top 10%: 2.405M -- Crucible - Top 1%: 13518, Top 10%: 12327 -- The Coil - Top 1%: 2.910M, Top 10%: 2.431M -- Heliostat - Top 1%: 2.912M, Top 10%: 2.448M -- Proving Grounds - Top 1%: 2.972M, Top 10%: 2.437M - Score thresholds below Top 10% have also been adjusted to further open up eligibility for the shader and transmat rewards. - The PvE changes are designed to protect the challenge of claiming the event's top emblem reward but we also feel it's necessary to address the 550 Power players that have been adversely affected by lower score bugs introduced alongside our Power equalization changes. - The PvP change is designed to address the several reports we're seeing of players coming in just a few points short after completing very high scoring games. We want to open this pool up slightly to encompass these players. - To prevent further impact of the Power changes, the Call to Arms score thresholds have now been locked. We're also planning to deploy a live update that introduces the following Call to Arms changes. - Decreased the cost of Tier 1 revive tokens and upgrades from Riven at the start of The Coil activity. -- Tier 1 Revive Tokens: changed to 25 Wishing Glass (previously 100). -- Other Tier 1 Dragon's Wish Upgrades: changed to 50 Wishing Glass (previously 100). -- Tier 2 and 3 upgrades and revive tokens will remain unchanged. - Expanded the interact radius of the Daily Shipment chest to address reports that its interface isn't showing. We unfortunately can't address the following issues in time for this event. - The team has been exploring how to address the impact of High Value Target spawns in the Salt Mines activity. We plan to factor them in for consistent scoring in future Call to Arms events. - The Call to Arms tooltips indicate the incorrect number of Competitor Points required to earn the "Next Percentile" for Above Average, Top 30%, and Top 10%. The correct values are 5, 10, and 50 Points respectively.
- Tuned scoring so that the lower Power you are, the more of a boost you will get to your Call to Arms score to offset the score impact of Power. -- We expect this to mitigate most but not all of the advantage that Power currently conveys. This should broaden the competition by elevating players who can quickly complete activities with difficult modifiers while still giving high Power players an edge. -- For example, with the right activity modifiers, a 300 Power player playing on Master difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 30% score today and a 400 Power player playing on Grandmaster difficulty could earn what is comparable to a Top 10% score today. -- Note: For players under 550 Power, be aware that your Call to Arms score will not exactly match your Portal Reward score. - Changed Boons to add 0 red triangles. Players will be able to choose any Boon without impacting their overall score. - Changed all gear player stakes to add 5 green triangles in Call to Arms activities, matching "All Bows". Our goal is to give players the opportunity for more variety in selecting modifiers during this competition. - Removed the Protected modifier (those pesky drones) from all Call to Arms activities. The score from that modifier has been added to the Close Danger Trade-off modifier.
We've deployed the following changes and fixes as a live update: - Set the Salt Mines activity to only have Taken combatants (not rotate between Dread and Taken) during the Call to Arms event to maintain a consistent experience when earning points in Solo Ops runs. - Removed Cutting Edge as a requirement in all Crucible modes to invite further buildcrafting in the PvP environment. - Fixed Zone Control mode not recording a player's higher scores after their first registered score. - Fixed an issue where the Iron Banner quest Testament of Strength was overriding the Call to Arms event quest. More improvements are planned for upcoming live updates: - Remove Power Multipliers as a scoring factor in PvE and PvP activities. This means that players at 500 Power can earn the same scores as those at 550 Power if they execute properly within the activity. - Change Boons to add 0 red or green triangles; Players will be able to choose any Boon without impacting their overall score. - Change all gear player stakes to add 5 green triangles in Call to Arms activities, matching "All Bows". Our goal is to give players the opportunity for more variety in selecting modifiers during this competition. The team is also actively investigating the following: - We are looking into increasing Revive Token quantities in The Coil activity. - We are investigating reports of enemies remaining immune even after all shield drones have been destroyed.
We have resolved an issue where players were not earning Festival of the Lost Bonus Engrams from PvP activities. All Crucible Ops should now be awarding these Bonus Engrams alongside the rest of the Portal. Additionally, as we continue to investigate soft-lock issues in Haunted Altars, we have temporarily disabled Join In Progress for those activities to reduce the frequency of players launching into runs that have already locked. As a reminder, Festival of the Lost will now run until reset on November 11, 2025.
UPDATE: We have resolved an issue introduced yesterday where the Combatant Power Delta for matchmade Portal activities was unintentionally increased. These activity difficulties have been brought back to where they were prior to Update 9.1.5. As a reminder, we will be making additional changes to Portal activity difficulty next week in Update 9.1.5.1. More information can be found here: https://bung.ie/4mwHZXu
With the release of Update 9.1.5, here are some of the top issues we are investigating: ❖ Changes previously made to activity difficulty have been unintentionally reverted, making some Portal activities more difficult than intended. ❖ Breaking Vex crystals in the Heliostat mission is not granting Wolfsbane intrinsics to all players in the fireteam. ❖ The Vault from Inventory function is not working when using a controller. ❖ The Whirling Ovation catalyst is not dropping as intended. Accessibility@Bungie, one of Bungie’s Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Associations (IDEA) is celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month with the new Hope Hues emblem. We are excited to partner with AbilityPoints, a nonprofit organization that strives to help profoundly disabled adults achieve employment in the tech and gaming space.  In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, everyone who makes a $10 donation to AbilityPoints through the Bungie Foundation campaign will earn the Hope Hues emblem in Destiny 2. Through October 31, 2025, all net proceeds* will go to AbilityPoints.   *Minus Tiltify and payment processing fees.

UPDATE: We have deployed a fix for the issue preventing players from respawning in Solo Ops. Please note that revive tokens are not working as intended in the Reclaim activity - the team is working to resolve this. Additionally, due to Widow's Court Onslaught rewarding fewer engrams than intended, the game mode has been temporarily disabled in the Portal until we can resolve that issue. Finally, the weapons in Iron Banner's Event Home are acquirable again, but drops will no longer display their holofoil until a fix can be deployed at a later date.
UPDATE: We have temporarily swapped the visuals on the Holofoil versions of the Folded Root and Romantic Death weapons to prevent Xbox crashes, and have re-enabled them for players to equip. They will be reverted back to their intended visuals once we have resolved the root cause. Please note that the weapon icon will still indicate if a drop is a Holofoil that will have the correct appearance in a future update.
We are investigating an issue where players with a full Consumables inventory will not receive Chronologs when purchasing Archived Passes. Players are advised to ensure that they have at least one open slot in the Consumables inventory to receive the currency before purchasing an Archived Pass. We will be granting players who have encountered this issue their missing Chronologs at a later date.
We have deployed a mitigation for an issue causing players to soft-lock in the Reclaim activity when moving to a new zone. Players will now be able to self-revive, and additional revive tokens are granted when transitioning. Additionally, we will be fixing the root issue causing players to die when moving to new zones next week in Update 9.1.0.1.
Due to an issue where inspecting the Holofoil versions of the Folded Root and Romantic Death weapons are causing crashes on Xbox, we have temporarily disabled the Holofoil versions of those weapons. We are actively pursuing temporarily changing the visuals of these weapons as soon as possible so that players can equip them without crashing. In addition, we will be reverting these changes back to their expected look as soon as we have identified and resolved the root cause.
Due to an issue where the Score Accelerator in the Portal wasn't correctly forecasting scores, it has been disabled until a fix can be deployed at a later date. The intention of this accelerator being active was to mitigate the issue where, when a surge was active, it would block players from using the Famine modifier and obtaining Guardian Rank 8. To ensure that still won't occur, there will be no surges next week. We appreciate everyone's patience as we've attempted to resolve these issues.
While we continue to investigate reports that the Double Bonus Focus modifier may not be correctly rewarding players as expected, we have swapped the Portal activity bonus to the Score Multiplier Accelerator for the remainder of this week. Additionally, we have made a change so that any event modifier can be toggled off in the Boon and Event Modifiers menu. This will allow players to freely select what modifiers they can apply to their activities even when a featured event is active.
Crucible Reward Changes As part of the overall goal to improve the feeling of rewards and progression across the Portal, we're in the process of updating Crucible rewards across all playlists. Earlier today we shipped Destiny 2 Update 9.0.0.6 with a handful of changes to target post-match rewards frequencies, and have more changes planned for September to focus on Power & Progression in Update 9.1.0. Update 9.0.0.6 went live today, and we fixed some issues and raised the reward floor to have less disparity between low and high skill: • Everyone in a match now has a chance to earn an additional roll, as opposed to 1 player per team. • The Competitive playlist weapon (Solemn Remembrance) has a chance to drop on completion instead of wins • Lowered B-grade score threshold for reward ranks Copper and Bronze (power 10-300) • This makes it easier to earn Bonus Drops and Bonus Focus rewards in PvP. • Increased gear tier for B+ at reward ranks Bronze and Silver (power 200-400) In Update 9.1.0, we are making Crucible Ops more rewarding for all players, along with targeted adjustments for early power bands: • Increasing Bonus Drop frequency when playing Crucible Ops • Increasing the amount of score earned on losses • Re-tuning score thresholds for all grades at reward ranks Copper and Bronze (power 10-300) to make earning higher power and gear tier more consistent • Increasing the highest potential gear tier at reward ranks Copper, Bronze, and Silver (power 10-400) • Increasing power adjustors for PvP (power 10-300) • Increasing chances for Prime Engrams We'll have more details about PvE rewards changes in the future, including the Desert Perpetual raid. Raid and Dungeon Difficulty Update We've been watching feedback the past few weeks focused on Raid and Dungeon difficulty. The following changes are being planned for future updates: We will be updating the difficulty for Legacy Raid and Dungeon activities to address player feedback.The Combat Difficulty for normal and master modes will be reduced by 10 Power. We will also be updating difficulty and the "Combined Mastery" Triumph in the Desert Perpetual Raid to address player feedback.Base Combat Difficulty will be lowered by 10 Power: Enemies will deal less damage and players will be able to deal more damage. We will be lowering the Cutthroat Combat Raid Feat, specifically the Combat Difficulty, by 10Was +40 combatant power, will be +30 combatant power. We will be lowering the "Combined Mastery" Triumph to only require a single completion at base difficulty, which will upgrade Gear rewards by one tier depending on number of feats active.Example: Instead of getting a T1 reward, you'll get a T2 reward. Layering on additional feats will increase difficulty but also help you get to T3 rewards and beyond. We're currently testing these changes and aiming to release them in Update 9.0.0.5 and will update you if anything changes.
