Aaron Schatz @aaronschatz.com · Feb 9 I realized that I did the Seahawks on the list of the top DVOA teams but not the top DVOA defenses including the playoffs. 2025 Seahawks 8th, 2013 Seahawks 11th 2000 Ravens are notable because they were so much better in the playoffs than the regular season.

1991 Eagles had the best regular season defense since 1978 and didn’t make the playoffs? Yikes!
No team in the top 15 repeated the feat within 7 years except when the 84/85/86 Bears did it three in a row, ridiculous run.

It’s strange that the ‘94 49ers, the best team I’ve ever watched, don’t make the list. That must be a function of having other dominant teams in the league at that time, like the Cowboys and Packers.
