The photo is of two cross streets in SE DC just after a heavy rain in front of a rowhouse. There is no important action going on in this photo, it’s just the view from a friend’s porch. You’d be able to hear neighbors walking by, cars passing, the neighbor’s baby crying. It would smell like summer rain on asphalt and wet leaves. The feeling would be as if you were sitting with a friend, who isn’t gone, but is just inside for a moment
A highly saturated sicilian cassata creme cake, which is wrapped in bright green marzipan that has been drizzled with pink eggless royal icing. The cake is topped with cannoli cream, decorated with alternating green and red maraschino cherries, candied oranges, and candied lemon peel. It is kind of supposed to look like you asked a sicilian to design an edible faberge egg — ornate, with radial symmetry, but not much else of artistic interest
a vernal pool in an eastern woodland forest. There are fallen trees, standing dead trees, and not-yet-budding trees in and around the pool, and newly growing plants in the pool and just outside it. No frog eggs in the water yet.
