Hi, I have some recommendations! Most of Rose Lerner's books deal with financial concerns and how being in dire straits affects characters' decisions and relationships, especially the Lively St Lemeston series (there are characters in danger of going bankrupt, or who urgently need to find work) KJ Charles writes a lot of cross-class relationships which deal with the realities of coming from different worlds - A Seditious Affair and The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting might be the best fit for what you're looking for, and An Unnatural Vice has a working-class adoptive single dad Courtney Milan also has some protagonists who fit the bill, especially in the Worth saga (historical) and in Trade Me (contemporary), which has a heroine who's actually broke agree to trade places with a billionaire (and we see the reality of what this means for her and her family)
