For news audiences Our initiatives, like the Style and Accessibility Guide and training sessions, aim to enhance news accessibility for the audience. We focus on individuals with disabilities who use alternative methods to access the web, as well as those with low literacy levels. For journalists Creating accessible news outlets, like the National Tab, fosters jobs for journalists with disabilities, chronic illnesses, veterans, and caregivers — individuals who frequently face underemployment.

About 2 in 11 people in the U.S. experience a traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year. TBI is the leading cause of disability and death around the world. Although mild TBIs, known as concussions, usually resolve in a matter of weeks, moderate and severe TBIs can have long-lasting symptoms. Repeat concussions can also result in long-lasting symptoms. At all ages, the diagnosis is most often made by a primary care provider or a behavioral health provider. Girls and women are more likely to remain under- and misdiagnosed. That's a recipe for misinformation.
