This is one of the Museum’s most popular objects, although most visitors wonder why so many moles are packed into a single jar. There are several jars containing multiple specimens in the collection, and there are a number of reasons why they might be prepared like this. First, it is an efficient way of storing many specimens. Glass jars and preservation fluid is expensive, so storing several specimens together cuts costs and also makes transporting them easier.

The Nicholas Brothers were an entertainment and dance act active between the 1930s and 1950s. Best known for a highly acrobatic technique known as "flash dancing”.
