Trivia (copy-pasted from the Sonic wiki) The Second Devourer bears many physical similarities to the Time Eater's imperfect form in Sonic Generations. It also shares its ability to destroy time and turn its victims to stone, and has even been referred to as a "time-eating monster." - In fact, the name "Second Devourer" is a reference to Time Eater's name. "Second" is a measurement of time and "devourer" is a synonym of "eater." - It is possible that the Second Devourer is what remains of the Time Eater after the events of Sonic Generations.
