Researchers at the University of Bath and Nottingham Trent University added nanoparticles of micronutrients to vases with cut roses. They wanted to see how different nutrients and doses affect stress, aging, and color. Experimental setup: Flower vases contained water mixed with amino-acid-coated micronutrients or water mixed with amino acids (control). Flowers were exposed to 16 hours of light per day.
