A hand touches my back, gently rubbing up and down. “Breathe slower, you’re fine, you’re safe. I’ll keep you safe.” Mia. The other person is Mia, I can trust her, I think, so I follow what she says, she hasn’t failed me yet. I slow my breathing at her request, the panic slowly subsiding. I try to speak, but the words refuse to come out, instead I lean into her, my tail slowly pulling her closer. “It’s fine, little one, you’re fine. You had a nightmare, you’re safe now.” Shaking my head I want to say no, but instead I just push into her more, seeking the contact, seeking the safety of another person. My mind does not have the capacity to do more, the nightmare. No, the memories, still fresh on my mind. Mia takes the hint and lays down beside me, wrapping an arm around me and stroking a finger across my scalp, the sensation soothing me, calming my racing heart. She holds me for a long while, I do not know how long, I do not know when she managed to shake me awake, we only start stirring when the first light of the enchantments outside seeps into the room. Mia is kind enough to wait for me to move first; she stayed awake the entire time, holding and soothing me.

Naya takes a while before eventually stripping and leaping into the water. Their body was rather well hidden beneath their armor before; but now with just the fur to cover them, their breasts are rather noticeable, as well as how well toned the entirety of their body is. It’s a beautiful sight, though I don’t linger long, they haven’t exactly stated whether they are fine with being watched. They stay in the water for a few minutes, until eventually the soup they have prepared is ready. When they exit the water, they don’t bother drying or covering up, instead they just head over towards me. There’s a small grin on their face when they notice my eyes straying on occasion. While I might not feel the attraction the same way others do, seeing them like this does make it hard to keep my eyes off of them. Though considering their popularity and their reaction, I don’t think they have an issue with it either… It does make me question, however, whether every lesbian with that kind of power has turned into a nudist now. Sure, my sample size is two, three if I consider myself, but still! Not that I am complaining though.

The magic stops flowing as it manifests in the air around her, solidifying and shifting her body into her preferred form, one mostly made up of magic as her wings stretch high into the sky, and a roar, both high and low pierces through the air, shattering its physical bounds as the magic in it tears apart any obstruction. Her little companion takes it all a little too well, most people are afraid when they see her draconic form, the blue luster of her scales proudly displayed. Ada though, seems mostly unaffected, the roar flowing around Ada as it reaches her, her eyes fixate on Mia’s form a moment later, though the strain is clearly showing, it doesn’t seem to originate in fear, more in the complexity of Mia’s magic, and in appreciation of her form.
The orb in the sky is back, its lightning thundering across the skies, shaking the very ground beneath me. The world shifts again, changes as I lose consciousness. My consciousness returns not long after. The orb is now different, tendrils stretching out from it, anchoring to the ground in the distance, one reaching down into the village. I can see the orb pulsing as I fade out again. Heat. There’s so much heat. My entire body burns with heat, heat caused by an incessant buzz of magic suffusing all of me. I try to breathe, and I drown, a liquid cascading down my throat into my lungs. Yet I do not suffocate, I only burn more. Opening my eyes, I see only blackness, perfect darkness. I feel my body changing in agonizing pain, my bones breaking and being reformed, my flesh squirming like a million insects. I try to fade away again, but it is slow, so agonizingly long before I finally do, I can feel my skin burn away in acid as I do. I can see again when I next open my eyes. The sun is high in the sky, and I feel a hand on my cheek, an indiscernible whisper accompanies it. My wife is soothing my pain. She’s done so many times, I love her, the only person I’ve ever loved in my own little way. Regret joins her voice soon though; I try to move, grab onto her, but my hand meets no resistance. Tears stream down my face as the darkness takes me again, though this time, I know I will be safe.
We draw on the stillness of our magic and erase our presence, maybe we can find something of interest this way.Quietly we stalk across the underbrush, our paws finding the spots without branches, and where there are none, we walk along the trunks of the trees.The first thing we eventually stumble upon is a change in the ground. A shift from the occasional patch of moss and reaching areas of new plants and trees, to an ever denser area of moss. Though before we can give it much thought, we finally spot what we were searching for. Another critter that calls this forest its home, and one that we have seen before: a rabbit, a magical rabbit to be precise, as this one hops across the moss with little bursts of water.It’s still fascinating to us how magic has changed the animals, made them so naturally adapt at using it. We quietly stalk the little rabbit, observing each hop it does; we take in every movement of its muscles, every shift of its body temperature, every last bit of magic it uses. And what we find is strange, the rabbit is almost devoid of magic itself, instead it draws the magic surrounding it into itself without absorbing that magic; instead it gives an ever so slight amount of its own magic to feed what it has drawn in, causing the ambient magic to do its bidding.An interesting method, though as we follow it longer, it quickly becomes clear that there are limits to it. It can not draw much more magic from its surroundings than it already does; whether that is due to its body not being capable of drawing in more, or whether the magic would refuse to change at a larger scale, we do not know. Though, there is an easy way to find out.The rabbit is still oblivious to our presence, even as our maw closes around its neck, and we swallow it whole. The experience is a bit different compared to eating the heart and brain separately. This time, we learn from something that is still alive. These memories are a fresh unity, a whole that we do not need to piece together
