REMINDER: Trump did not just negotiate a broken, impossible deal in Afghanistan. HE ALSO INTENTIONALLY SABOTAGED IT AFTER LOSING THE ELECTION. Starting with drawing down the troops from 13,500 to 2,500 to make the uphill battle Biden faced even more impossible.

Based on how poorly The Afghani Army performed, getting out of Afghanistan instead of continuing nation building was the right choice. The deal that Trump and Pompeo put together was terrible. I'm not sure how the Biden administration could have performed any better.

We didn't negotiate with Afghanistan. We handed over control to our enemy, the Taliban, not the government. We surrendered. Now, we are surrendering to Iran for a war we started.
Here's the thing. There's a few things during Trump 1 that I'm glad that Trump did, such as getting us out of Afghanistan and funding Operation Warp Speed, but even the things he did, he didn't do right.

The main concession is that they get to unload their oil. Once they clear their stores, they can close the strait again with a couple thousand dollars and a handful of troops costing the US billions of dollars and triggering another energy crisis.
