Visited the beaches of Normandy last month for my birthday. My father served in WW2, me during Vietnam. I looked at the beaches, and the American cemetery, and felt ashamed that those brave men and women sacrificed for what the US has now become.
Sometimes real strength works in the background to get things done and never takes credit for it.
I am tired of the talk about strength and weakness and silent strong, weak loud etc. I just want people to get shit done. Like people just nodding, picking up a hammer, stop grand standing and trying to be right. Just hit the nail, start building and stop 'influencing'. Fking tired of it. Be doers.
One thing I learned, oh maybe 20 years ago, is never take credit. Always give credit to the team, my team needs the recognition to keep themselves motivated, and to progress their careers. Failure is mine alone when communicating up and out. It's the right thing to do. But then I served 10 years.

Here's the eventuality I see. Even if the Dems are, despite all MAGA criminality, able to prevail in November, win back control of both houses, and impose meaningful standards on Trump, even if.... I predict Trump is going to respond with "make me"! Then what?

I think the true test of a leader is when Eisenhower went to visit the paratroopers before Normandy, knowing there would be an 80% loss rate & making them feel seen, listening to their stories & making it about them. Laughing with them. (Actual loss rate was less than 15%)
