JD Vance seems to be saying, "We are WAY MORE corrupt than Nixon, y'all!" And he is right. But the biggest difference between then and now is that when Watergate happened Nixon's fellow Republicans had the spines and principles to hold him accountable for his corruption—that is no longer the case.
A good example of his mouth out running his brain. He just basically admitted Watergate doesn’t hold a candle to the corruption that has been caused by this administration. And that’s putting it lightly.

Vance is not only admitting how depraved this administration is but how much worse it is than Nixon was. While Nixon did engage in an illegal act, it was limited to a political party, whereas Trump is attacking the whole government and condoning the deaths of citizens.

This made me talk to my kids about Watergate. My high schooler recently learned about it in American History; it was new to my middle schooler. I did not ever anticipate discussing with my kids why a VP would minimize Watergate. I know I shouldn’t be surprised.anymore but some days I still am.
