Brain Salad Surgery (1973) by Emerson, Lake & Palmer on the Tech 12. Some iconic artwork by H. R. Giger, with his signature biological-meets-mechanical skulls. The jacket slits down the middle and the sides fold open. This is a release from New Zealand. It's a cutout too, so perhaps didn't sell so well there?
Irrlicht (1976 reissue) by Klaus Schulze on the Tech 12. The album has the subtitle "Quadrophonische Symphonie für Orchester und E-Maschinen", or "quadrophonic symphony for orchestra and electronic machines". It's a bit of a misnomer, because the instrumentation was all organ. Schulze said the contents were closest to musique concréte. The music is largely layered organ drones. It's definitely in no hurry to get anywhere, and may never actually do so, but it's the start of Schulze's musical journey.

Merry Something To You (2025 Black Friday RSD issue) by Devo on the Tech 12. This is a picture disc, which is a bit hard to decipher with the disc spinning at 45 rpm. It comes in a clear vinyl sleeve with a hype sticker.
Tron Ares Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2025) by Nine Inch Nails on the Tech 12. There were two different pressings in the US, the red jacket with black vinyl, and the white jacket with white vinyl. This is the black vinyl. The discs are dead quiet, with absolutely no surface noise. Even the runouts are almost completely quiet. This is a really nicely produced album.

Orbital 2 (2025 reissue) by Orbital on the Tech 12. Freshly out of the ultrasonic cleaner, now sounds crisp and clean with almost zero surface noise. The "galaxy" brown-and-black swirl, which was a Rough Trade exclusive for this reissue, is just too cool for school.
Pygmalion (2012 reissue) by Slowdive on the Tech 12. It's a Music On Vinyl release, on a 180 gram platter, and sounds fantastic.

Write-a-long with America's top composers! Capitol's "Songs Without Words" contest! Contestants would buy the record (*of course* there's an additional purchase) which had 10 tracks without lyrics, and would submit their lyrics on the tiny entry forms on the other side of the sleeve. "Ten winners will each be paid $500.00 advance against royalties for publication rights to their prize-winning lyrics, and will receive a contact calling for additional lyricist's royalties as earned." At least record companies are consistent, doing the same shady contract scammery they were doing sixty-odd years ago.

Lifeforms by Future Sound Of London. The album was originally released in 1994, and was a critical and popular success, entering the British dance chart at #1, and the albums chart at #6. It also spawned two hit singles, "Cascade" and the title track "Lifeforms". This particular pressing was made in 2018, but I can't hold that against it.
Time Out (1962 reissue) by The Dave Brubeck Quartet on the Tech 12. Still in amazing shape. Brubeck, Desmond, Wright, and Morello laying down one of the all-time great platters. The chain post the other day about which album you save from a burning house... this is probably that one for me.
Gold Medal (2025 reissue) by The Donnas on the Tech 12. Unfortunately the cool "gold smoke" vinyl gets lost on the black turntable.
