It certainly reads that way. Definitely an interesting next step by TTD. They're going to have to buy into hardware and rely on direct agency revenue to fund it. Curious to see how this impacts their Walmart partnership too, given their Vizio acquisition.

Their biggest competitor will be consumer inertia. TVs take years to go through upgrade cycles. Like 5-10 years. Smart TVs are largely in almost every HH. They will have a very slow adoption rate for years to come. They better be patient on this one, can’t make decisions on a whim in this area.

Why would a current Roku user switch? Or why would any1 choose a new device that uses Ventura OS over Roku, FireStick or Google TV? Launching without any OEMs and/or devices signed up? TTD may be swinging at Roku, but will they actually connect? Let alone knock them out? 😬
