Ice Storm Expected this Weekend, Saturday Morning through Monday Morning. North Georgia, generally along and north of I-20. Highest impacts expected over northeast Georgia. Ice Storm Warning: ice accumulation of 0.25 to 1 inches. Winter Storm Watch: Ice accumulation of up to 0.25 inches. Anticipate major impacts, including dangerous (if not impossible) travel and power outages. Very cold temperatures will exacerbate hazardous conditions on Monday.
During Extreme Heat Find air conditioning. Avoid strenuous activities. Wear light clothing. Check on family members and neighbors. Drink plenty of water. Watch for heat cramps - exhaustion - stroke. Never leave people or pets in a closed car.

What's Expected: • A strong storm system will approach from the west on Saturday. • While uncertainty remains, if the ingredients come together, all severe hazards will be possible including tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail. Timing/Location: • Late Saturday afternoon into early Sunday afternoon. • Severe weather will be possible across all of north and central Georgia. Extreme Cold Watch Monday Morning 1am - 12pm Overview: An Extreme Cold Watch has been issued for North GA overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Low temperatures below 20F and winds of 10-15 mph, gusting to 20mph, will mean wind-chills near or below OF. Key Messages: • High confidence in wind chills near or below OF across North Georgia. • Areas within the watch area will likely be upgraded to an Extreme Cold Warning in the next 24-36 hrs. • ALL areas outside the watch could still see exceptionally cold temperatures with wind chills reaching from 15 down to the single digits. • Cold Weather Advisory Likely for most counties outside the Extreme Cold Watch
