Consolidated our OpenSearch serverless indices and saw huge performance gains! OCU’s dropped from ~8 to ~1 while handling a much larger workload. AOSS is optimized for fewer, larger indices rather than many small ones. Makes sense architecturally - less overhead managing multiple index contexts.

We started with AOSS but moved to a permanent instance. Our architecture is lots of relatively small indices and I've already had to bump up the default shard to 3500 (no perceived downside to that so far but can't do it forever).
