Wanna write about vampires but you live in a city and have no way to find the specific gothic stuff you want? Make it an urban fantasy. Want to make a scene of someone in a plane cabin? Just take a pic of some clouds and the context will do the rest. Hell, new ideas might pop up in the process and you can even build an identity out of all the disparate stuff you had to use to make things work. I feel like honestly you should earn that increase in scope, both to learn and to protect yourself from the woes of scope creep. But yeah. Machines should be there to take away the tedium and let you do the fun part. If the creation process, the actual creative part where you make the thing is tedious enough that you want to leave it to the machine, please stop and reconsider where you’re going as a creator."
