TIL the Pacific salmon doesn’t have enough energy to swim back to the ocean after spawning. One of the local parks smells like rotten flesh. 🥴

Somewhere on the West Coast of British Columbia is an ingenious contraption at the bottom of a dam. It allows salmon to swin in, they extract the eggs and place them upstream and sell the salmon meat. As salmon return to the place they hatched, this repeats every year.
