your review for: The Remembered Soldier by Anjet Daanje 4.75 * The Remembered Soldier reads like slow cinema in the vein of Jeanne Dielman, entrenching you in the beautiful mundanity of married life with the haunting spectres of war and lies lurking around the corner. The slow pace meant I was reading this for two weeks. Two weeks of feeling the roller coaster of emotions this couple goes on. Of sitting in their photography shop which I can see in my head so so vividly. Of watching nightmares of war dance over their heads as they slept. The dialogue-free writing style really helped me get into the perspective of a veteran with amnesia. It
