Biel-Tan Avatar painted by Airylan. Front view. This is a Finecast version of the "middle" Avatar. Painted like the new Avatar but with variations because of the sculpt difference.

The composition is: Captain with power fist and combi-melta (the old Captain set with the awesome sprues, from 3rd edition or so); Librarian in Terminator armour (collector's model from 2020 or so, painted with a Dark Angel badge actually); TechMarine (from 4th edition I think, a made to order version. With the Doc Ock backpack with just so many servo arms); Chaplain (from 1997 or so, though the right arm, shoulder pad, and plasma pistol are newer); Dreadnought (from Assault on Black Reach, but looks near enough to the 2e metal boxnought); Metal Terminator squad (the ... 1994? Version, that I have had since 1998 or so); One tactical squad of Monopose Marines.
Work in Progress Eldar, partially painted by Airylan. The painted group includes a Guardian Squad (missing a misplaced heavy weapon), Avatar, Farseer, squad of Fire Dragons with Exarch, Howling Banshees with Exarch, and mostly finished Death Reapers with Exarch (one is unpainted). There is also a painted Wraithlord not shown as it's currently misplaced. The unpainted contingent is: a Falcon, a Vyper, two squads of Guardians, a squad of Fire Avengers with Exarch, and Striking Scorpions with Exarch. Unassembled and so not shown are: a squad of Swooping Hawks, another squad of Striking Scorpions, another squad of Howling Banshees, an Autarch, and so so many Harlequins. Plus more farseers and warlocks and Eldrad Ulthuan.

There's an Ostsol with a white head, purple body, black legs, and yellow arms for the Non-binary colours. There's a Cicada with dark orange to light orange to white to light pink to dark pink top to bottom gradient for Lesbian Pride. And a Longbow LGB-7Q in Progress Pride colours. The rainbow is left to right, red orange yellow green blue purple, with the triangle of black, brown, cyan, pink, and white chevrons, and the yellow triangle and purple circle, painted on the top.

The Two Yarricks painted by Airylan. The one on the left is from 3rd edition 40k and is using muted colours. The main difference from the 3rd edition references is a red power claw instead of black. The one on the right is the 2nd edition Yarrick, painted in the more vibrant and separated style of 2nd edition. The one thing I might go back to do is a brown line around the designs on the chest. In the picture, the yellow isn't very separate from the white breastplate.

Dark Elves army painted by Airylan, between 2008 and now. Originally bought as a Spearhead box in 7th edition Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The pictured army comprises: 10 Witch Elves; 10 Corsairs; 6 Scouts; 5 Cold One Knights; 10 Repeater Crossbows; 21 Spear Elves; 1 Repeater Bold Thrower; 1 Cold One Chariot; 1 Hero on Cold One; 1 Hero on foot; 1 Sorceress on Cold One; 1 Sorceress on foot; Lokhir Fellheart. This army will be finished when I paint my hydra and other repeater bolt thrower. And possibly 5 Dark Riders. This army will be "Complete" when I add Executioners and Black Guard, which will satisfy the "20 nobles with heavy armour and two handed weapons" of 2nd edition minima. I also need 10 more Crossbow elves and 19 spear elves to meet 2nd and 3rd edition minima. Then I can play every Warhammer Fantasy Battles edition with this army!

Blood Angels 2nd edition 1500 point army all together. I've had many of these for decades and they finally look the way I always wanted. (Apologies for the lengthy alt text, but I have a lot of details to add) There is a monopose Tactical Squad with flamer and missile launcher, as is the way. There is a 5 Marine Terminator squad with assault cannon and two chain fists - this was a metal box set once upon a time. Chaplain from 2nd edition era. Captain from the 3rd edition era? Multipart Captain kit. Dreadnought from the Assault on Black Reach set though it's barely different from the 2nd edition metal brick. Techmarine from an edition I didn't play with too many arms. And Lexicanum Varus as a Dark Angel seconded to this force. If I add to this force at any point, I will add a 2nd edition Land Speeder, 2nd edition era Librarian and Techmarine, and a Death Company. I don't have any of those models yet so I'd have to source them. I might have all the parts to a Devastator squad, and a second monopose Tactical Squad. But for now, the project is complete.

Mostly painted Black Widow company painted by Airylan. The company composition matches that in the original Black Widow source book, except I'm short a Rifleman and a Stinger. They're made up of a metal Griffin, mostly new plastics, and some old PlasTech. They're painted black with red markings.

A tactical squad of Blood Angels monopose Marines painted by Airylan. They're the standard configuration with a flamer and missile launcher, with sergeant with chain sword. They're inspired by the photos of these sculpts in the 1997ish era marketing materials.
A D&D mini Airylan painted for her fiancée. She's a bird person with navy blue feathers, wearing full plate armour, wielding a heavy mace and shield. Over the plate is a white tunic and skirt. I particularly liked painting the armour silver then using transparent Grey's and blacks to get it to a dark steel look, and I got the black to white gradient on the fabric looking good. There's also some teal piping and golden details, and the base is painted as muddy sandstone. Mini was sculpted with HeroForge and printed using their service.
