Behind the title 'AS FAR AS DEVOTION GOES' is the roughly sketched image of a dragon's skull. It's mouth hangs open to reveal an onslaught of maggots cascading out. An axe is stuck in its scalp, marring the bone with cracks. While the left eye remains dark and hollow, the right is alight with a faint prick, radiating out in circles of lively light.
Rather than using one's own inner power to access exterior change, goreweaving constitutes utilising one's enchanted blood to directly effect change. Essentially, it cuts out the middle man and allows access to a far more powerful form of magic, although this direct connection also leaves one open to inflicting unwanted change, if their emotions and subconscious are not kept carefully in check.
