Phantom comic from 26th July 2026. I haven't been following the continuity of the strip so I don't know how to explain what's going on in context.
An edited version of the Phantom comic from 26th July 2026 is shown. The title panel includes the image from the corresponding Fred Basset title panel and the middle strip of panels have been removed. "The Phantom created by Lee Falk X Fred Basset by Alex Graham" The font face throughout the rest of the comic used indicates the dialog is from Fred Basset, while the artwork comes from The Phantom. Panel 1: A blond, bearded man sits on the beach next to a disheveled skeleton. The skeleton is wearing a bright red jacket and blue crabs have taken an interest in crawling over him. The blond man asks, "Did you have a nice game?" Panel 2: The blond man has risen. Holding a skull-topped walking stick, he asks again, "I said... did you have a nice game?" You: Ricken's book suffers from trying to give the people what they want (shallow profundities) while also giving the people what they want (character/worldbuilding snippets) One of the chapters is about him REDACTED. But Mark in the show reacting to that chapter specifically wouldn't make sense to a viewer without giving them the context from the fictional book. But Mark not reacting to the chapter given that REDACTED is jarring now that I've read the flowery prose.
