5 star review: So, demon in mid life crisis finds family? Did not realize I was craving a comfortable slice if life book quite like this. Note, this isn't really a redemption book. Nor is it a morality story. If it has a theme I'd say I it's finding a work/life balance? Its basically just a powerful demon trying to be a good father and husband. For a slice if life its got a slow burn plot that provides nice pacing. All of the characters are useful and well written. Also a nice bit if humor and nostalgia callouts. Its going in the pile of books I recommend. One of the rare titles that makes KU really worth keeping. 5 star review: Was a very fun read, I blew through it! Characters are excellent and well rounded, I loved the entire family. Six is precocious and Bael is hilarious. Plot was well thought out as well. Feel like there’s plenty of space for sequels that follow other characters as well. Honestly the only thing I didn’t care for was the Pratchett style asides written in (). Most felt like they could have actually been worked into the text naturally and felt a bit forced even when they were amusing. After borrowing it on kindle unlimited and finishing it I bought the book, which is about the highest recommendation I can give. 5 star review: I've enjoyed many good books over the years, but not often can a book bring a stupid-looking grin to your face from the first sentence to the last. This book held up from pace, characters, story, and writing style. It filled me with a bliss few books have and I must now stalk this author for the next in the series. I am happy. A real rarity for someone with my sling of mental illnesses. I hope this author gains popularity and produces many more great works!
