This is why we have requested internal data from Google under the new EU transparency rules to assess the impact of AI Overviews on external websites: How many people are still visiting websites after searches, versus those simply staying in Google search and reading error-prone AI Overviews?
Biggest issue is noticing it is AI rubbish and not a real site when you are in a hurry. Given it has confidently given me tide times exactly 6 hours wrong it is a menace for the unwary.
