I don’t think Magic should become the basis of someone’s entire personality; it is almost by definition as a trading card game owned by a publicly traded company going to continuously contort itself to the shape of popular culture. And so Magic can act as a sort of connective tissue for people to coalesce around, but it isn’t load bearing.
