This was the UK Government's 1948 explainitory leaflet that was put through the letterbox of every home in the UK, in the run up to the start of their National Health Service . What's interesting is the whole concept, the fairness and the sheer altruism of what they wanted to achieve are set out in a couple of sentences !! Moving forward, to the present - the population of the EU is around 511.8 million people and all are using basically similar forms of well-developed socialised healthcare systems within each individual country. I don’t see any Europeans rushing to leave the system.
