IRS Members are reporting receiving email messages from the “Service Desk” with a subject of “ACTION REQUIRED: Confirm Interest in Deferred Resignation Program.” The email says in part – “The U.S. Department of the Treasury has been informed by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that you elected to participate in the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP) that was outlined in the “Fork in the Road” email sent by OPM. To document your intent to participate in the DRP, please click the below link to answer a few brief questions.” The link is called “Validate Resignation.” DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK!!! THE PROGRAM IS CLOSED. This email is intentionally deceiving. NTEU advises employees to delete these emails and DO NOT respond unless you previously agreed to participate in the DRP. January 28, 2025 A Message from Secretary Kristi Noem on Return to Office Dear DHS Employees, On his first day in office, President Trump signed a Presidential Memorandum regarding Return to In-Person Work. While most DHS employees are not able to work remotely due the nature of our mission, DHS is proceeding with steps to ensure full compliance with the Presidential Memorandum. In alignment with the President’s Mandate, DHS will fully comply with the directive to return to in-person work. All eligible employees are expected to work full time at their respective duty stations unless excused due to a disability, qualifying medical condition, or other compelling reason, as certified by the agency head and the employee’s supervisor. We are finalizing the necessary plans, policies, and procedures to ensure full compliance with this mandate and will continue to keep you informed throughout the process.
