Was recording insects at night and caught this weird interference with my Zoom H3-VR. Never heard anything like it before and not sure where it came from since I was in a very remote area.

It was only this short burst over a five minute recording, so I imagine it must have been some piece of equipment of mine, but all I had on me was my phone and a headlamp.

Earlier Zooms had weird electronic noises, but I thought they fixed that.

Pretty sure this is your phone seeking a signal. If you’re in a remote place it sends out quite high power bursts to try and find a cell tower
