He wasn't thinking about the structure of each scene, or the speeches that the love interests needed to make to win the hearts of their leading ladies. He certainly wasn't thinking about the parallels between his situation and that of a prince that hid his identity and fell in love. "You're young, and I'm not," the prince said quietly in the corner of the gardens on the final night of the masquerade. He took a strand of his lover's hair and tucked it behind her ear. Lucanis could quote the scene by heart, including the way she teasingly asked if he was hiding wrinkles under the mask. The lovers' hands were entwined as the prince said quietly, "I'm not a good man, but that's not enough to keep me from wanting you by my side."

A screenshot of text from my Tumblr, ofcrowsanddragons: My Dragon Age thesis is that characters who are possessed by spirits become more like a spirit (which is why they can't be possessed when no longer possessed) and that spirits who possess an embodied being become more like that being in turn. A possession where the two beings are in sync allows them to shape each other naturally over time. However, most "abominations" that form (that we know about) involve the spirit wildly attempting to shape the other being without being in sync at all. He let go of my arm, stepped back slowly enough that I could follow him with my knife even as I let my sword dissipate into the ether. He looked at me like he’d never seen me before, his warm brown eyes staring intently into my own behind the mask as he took another step back. “Would you?” he asked. “Keep me?” “Lucanis,” I breathed, not letting the knife waver as I stepped with him, “if you truly wanted to be mine, I’d never let you go.”
