I don't think I can convey in words how stupid the photo is, but I'll try. Paul Ryan, at the time Speaker of the House of Representatives, sits on a weight bench, but he is not in a gym. He is on a photoshoot set. He straddles the bench, heavy weights at his feet. He wears a backwards baseball hat in spite of the fact that he appears to be an adult. His head is cocked to the side and his arm reaches toward the camera as if to say, "Step off, bro." He looks like a parody of someone trying to look tough. This photo is an entire SNL skit if SNL was still funny.

Another obvious step is more in-class assessment. Requiring students to take tests with paper and pencil should not only prevent cheating on exam day but also offer a semester-long incentive to master the material. Likewise oral exams. Schools should experiment with other creative and rigorous methods of evaluation with AI in mind.
