New book for the weekend. Back to Sarah Hall, Cumbria author, whose books I’m really enjoying.
1/2 Still immersed in this. Hall’s debut novel. I find her writing of nature combined with the human element so powerful & reminiscent of Hardy and Lawrence (must return to at some point).The parochial presentation of her writing portrays perfectly the Cumbrian rural community Without romanticising the unrelenting harshness of the wild environment the inhabitants have to work and live within. I find myself in awe of her writing. #Booksky #Fiction
