Single 8 1/2” x 11” page zine designed to be folded into a small 8 page book. The content covers the definition of, and the possible implementation of, citizen-led ballot initiatives in the United States. Ballot initiatives can be an effective way for citizens to enact legally-binding policy changes and laws. Also called referendums, these campaigns originated with the Peoples Party in the late nineteenth century before being more widely adopted in the early 20th century. Each small page of the zine is drawn in black ink on a white background in an intentional, lo-fi style. The final two small pages focus on Pennsylvania, which does not have a state-wide citizen-led ballot initiative process, and Pittsburgh, which does through its home rule charter.
